The scientific description of processes involved in the powerful release of energy from high explosive materials remains one of the most complex problems confronting modern science. In spite of fifty years of concentrated research built upon careful and precise experiments and the massive use of modern computers, the problem remains a major challenge. Anatoliy N. Dremin is recognized as perhaps the most innovative contributor to detonation science and this book provides unique insights into the physics, chemistry, and mechanics relevant to initiation and sustenance of detonation processes. The book presents theories, both conventional and unusual, for describing the processes as well as the experimental challenges to theory and modeling. An unusually valuable contribution to modern science, it will be required reading for any serious student of energetic materials and powerful, high-energy processes. ...

Introduction to Physics and Chemistry of Combustion: Explosion, Flame, Detonation

Publisher: Springer 2008 | 349 Pages | ISBN: 3540787585 | PDF | 14 MB

Most of the material covered in this book deals with the fundamentals of chemistry and physics of key processes and fundamental mechanisms for various combustion and combustion related phenomena in gaseous combustible mixture. It provides the reader with basic knowledge of burning processes and mechanisms of reaction wave propagation. The combustion of a gas mixture (flame, explosion, detonation) is necessarily accompanied by motion of the gas. The process of combustion is therefore not only a chemical phenomenon but also one of gas dynamics.

X-Rated – The Films That Shocked Britain
English | 00:46:13 | 704x400 | DivX 1101Kbps | 25fps | MPEG Audio 128Kbps | 409MB
Genre: Documentary

A 46 minute, Channel 5 documentary plotting the history of ‘X’-rated films – mostly pornography – the last sixty years. The first ‘X’ film was certified and relased in 1952 – allowing horror movies, violence and sex to appear in cinemas, often under the guise of ‘art films’. The documentary shows not only the rise of X films made in both Britain and America, but also the ways in which directors got around the censorship requirements – by releasing documentaries of nudist colonies with glamour models playing volleyball etc. Later on in the documentary, it shifts to slapstick sex comedy, lesbian-themed films and films depicting sadomasochism and rape.
